Tiff had no clue that the rest were celebrating her birthday in advance on Saturday. I wasn't in time to capture her stunned face. Ughhh! The birthday girl suggested to walk to Clarke Quay from Marina Square and yea, her wish was granted. Had a long chat at Coffee Club and we tried all ways to make Sher divulge more things but as usual, her secretive self remains. "Message then together already!" Hahahhaa! We died laughing at this phrase. Gonna see them all on Friday again and YESSSSS I can't wait for that day to come.

That day was Zhi hao's 21st!

Pictures are somewhat deceiving. This is a picture taken a year ago. After a long conversation with a friend, I've realized that how many can really become your closest and true friends. One who knows you inside out, believes in you, and practically shares everything & anything with you because he/she trusts you. Looking at it, I can strongly affirm that there is a group and a couple of handful ones whom I will see hanging out with be it 10, 20 years down the road and some even a lifetime. It is the things in common that make relationships enjoyable and the trust build upon one another. It takes two hands to clap for a strong bond and there certainly must be an element of trust. Out of the 20 odd in there, how many are willing to share and how many do I actually know who they really are, their inner most true self? I have wished to understand the hearts of people and to be able to read their mind. Hanging out together does not equate to closeness or knowing everything about them. It's only when one is willing to open up, only then can the friendship be brought to another level. Some people come into your life and right away, you know that they are meant to be there, to teach you a lesson and help you to figure out who you really are. True friends are like your second family and I think they are worth my time because they are who they are, non-pretentious.

& deep down, nothing has to be said for me to be aware of the group that I'm closest to because there's familiarity in our topics of conversations and more importantly, being comfortable with them. (:

Day 5 - The Climax

It was Easter Day and we went to The Peak & Lan Kwai Fong (something like Clarke Quay). That was the climax of our trip out of our 5 nights there. (:

The huge shopping mall where we spent hours attacking Zara's kids section.

That day was a rainy day and it was a very cold night. It was unexpected and we left the hotel wearing minimal clothes doing without scarfs. Bravo!

We took the bus up the peak. Look how foggy it was. Bad night as we didn't get to see Hong Kong's skyline. It was freezing!!! It was so cold to the extent that we had to wear our newly bought clothes to make us feel warmer.

Tiff didn't realize that she was already at the highest peak and kept insisting that there was a tram up to the highest peak. We queued dumbly for the tram and found out that the tram was heading down to the city. Yes, damn retarded.

We couldn't locate Rach & the rest so we asked the police for directions. They were surprised that Singaporeans could speak both English & Mandarin.

Lan Kwai Fong was very happening that night and I guessed it might be due to Easter Day.

Off to Mong Kok for supper.

It makes no sense for them to place the menu like that. It only made ordering difficult for us.

Day 6 - Anti-Climax

It was saying good-bye to the lovely weather, the busy & happening streets, the shopping & eating and our daily routine in our hotel room. :(

The way how Tiff dressed was as though she was already in S'pore and she was complaining "Nick, what is with the weather! I am not being able to make it. Too cold." Hahaha! This woman always crack me up.

Both Tiff & I spent our journey back to S'pore talking about how much fun we had and wished everything could go at a slower pace, to really allow us to take time to enjoy every minute once again.

This little boy accompanied us throughout the journey peeping at us, playing with us and even made us smelled his socks!

He looked alike to my cousin Ethan. I would say 90% alike!

Koh hui! You are not forgotten!

The 7 of us have yet to go on a trip together. Next year, we will prolly head to Korea/Japan together. I can't wait for that day to come. In the meantime, girls, it's time we start saving up. (:

They sure do know how to enjoy life to the fullest. First stop was at Taiwan and next, Hong Kong! Had Dim Sum breakfast with them near our hotel area, Prudential Centre and it was a catch! Dim sum breakfast @ half price before 11am. Nicee!

I miss the busy streets of Ladies Street, Fa Yuen Street, Argyle Street & Sai Yeung Choi Street. Communication wasn't as easy as we thought it would be especially when it comes to ordering of food. Mandarin was not their common language but Cantonese & we were clueless about Cantonese. There was once at the Bobbi Brown, the salesperson had difficulty understanding Tiff's mandarin and asked if she could speak English. Hahaha! We always started conversing in Mandarin afraid that many may not be able to understand English. True enough, we were right. It was sure a fun experience pointing at the menu pictures for ordering. To play safe, we always ordered food that was spicy, which can never go wrong.

What a creation for eating noodles. Love it.

That night's weather was something akin to S'pore. Just look at the vast difference of our outfits. My sis was just being lazy to carry her coat on hands.

This dessert store is THE BOMB, as claimed by Rach & my sis. People actually said this "If you never try out at this dessert store, it's as good as not going to Hong Kong."

We actually bumped onto them on the streets. What a coincidence.

My second trip to Hong Kong but this time round, it was certainly more fun as compared to the last. The reason being I was able to customize my very own itinerary, venture out till late night, be independent, getting cranky with friends, bumping into friends at the streets, eating&shopping. Hong Kong is definitely a shopping paradise for me especially when there's H&M there. Tiff, my sis & I attacked all H&M outlets we could find and spent hours in there, not sparing any chance to leave out any good buys and for once, I'm thankful for being short, that being able to fit into kids clothes of H&M's and Zara's. Awesomeee. In fact, most of my gains are from the kids' sections. (: I'm on cloud nine for the reason that the weather was constantly at (18 to 23 degrees) during our stay, niceee! Hong Kong sure live up to its name - shopping & eating paradise. The streets were madly packed with people as late as 12mn, with bargains galore in the sales. The one thing I love about HK most is that the streets at Mong Kok closes at 12mn daily. The night just seems longer and more fun when there are places to walk. If only Singapore's street was like them, I've got nothing to complain about our late night shopping.

Our journey began from 29 March to 3 April 2010, 6D5N. (:

Day 1 - A hop & a skip away to shopping paradise

My sis managed to locate the eatery where they sell delicious beef stewed noodles we ate 3 years back. She seems to have a knack for road directions.

The streets on a Monday. Don't they have to work? We see them hanging out till late night at Mong Kok area even if there is work the next day.

Our first day was already a blast where shopping is concerned. (:

I've always find it burdensome to take time out for masks. I have never been this diligent when it comes to beauty therapy but it was different when I was in Hk. For all nights, a mask becomes a need and not a want for I heard that the air in Hk isn't as clean as S'pore. It dawned on me that putting on mask is a step closer to smoother skin if it's a daily routine.

Day 2 - Places of Interest

We had a day tour and it started well with our charming tour guide picking us from the hotel. He is the best tour guide ever not because he's good-looking but his ability to relate to us, to capture our attention to listen to his interesting stories of the top 10 riches people in HK, telling us the stories of actors like Jacky Chan, Lydia Sum etc.

I love the crystal cable car cabin and nearly died laughing at Tiff's phobia when our cabin swayed due to the strong chilly wind. Our 50 minutes ride was one of our best moments in HK.
